At Hand-in-Hand, we encourage discovery, creativity, development and exploration in a safe, secure, relationship-based environment. We believe that children should be allowed to gain confidence as they experience success, regardless of ability. To meet this objective, we stimulate each child to think, reason and problem solve. We strive to acknowledge each child's identity while instilling a sense of respect and appreciation for others.
Hand-in-Hand's integrated Childcare Program is licensed by the State of Iowa and has earned a rating of 4 (of a possible 5) on the Iowa Quality Rating System.
Services:
Infant Classroom
- Two classroom teachers serve 8 children ages 6 weeks to 2 years in a nurturing, playful environment.
- Encourages discovery using teacher directed and self-initiated play.
Preschool Classroom
- Three classroom teachers serve 20 children ages 2 years to kindergarten.
- Features the High Scope Curriculum-using play and socialization to help all children develop knowledge, skills, initiative and the ability to regulate behavior and resolve conflicts.
- Daily schedule offers a balance of inside/outside play, active/quiet times and teacher lead/self-initiated exploration.

Camp Hand-in-Hand provides a number of programs for individuals with disabilities and in some cases their siblings. The staff is dedicated to providing skill-building programs in social development and life skills. There are opportunities for weekend respites and special event respites for evenings, holidays and after school. Contact the Respite Center directly for a schedule of activity times.
