Program: Loan Closet

The Bremer County Health Department (BCHD) offers a variety of medical equipment for individuals (both patients and non-patients) to loan out for up to a 5-month period. There is no cost to loan the equipment, but freewill donations in any amount are greatly appreciated to help with the upkeep of the equipment.

  • Bath benches
  • Commodes ($10 fee for the bucket)
  • Raised toilet seats
  • Walkers
  • Canes
  • Crutches
  • Reachers
  • Toilet safety rails

Public Health nurses provides skilled nursing care, information on healthy lifestyle practices, and encourages changes for better health. This service is available to every citizen (of all ages) and is provided locally in every county. Skilled nursing services are provided by professional staff or associated paraprofessionals. The service available varies by county. Public Health Nurses also provide information and assistance to link families with local community resources for health and social needs.
