Behavioral Health Intervention Services (BHIS) are supportive, directive, and teaching interventions provided in a community- or home-based care environment designed to improve the individual’s skills for effective functioning with family, peers, and community in an age-appropriate manner.
Your child or young adult may benefit from BHIS services for issues such as:
- family, school or peer conflict
- change in sleep or eating patterns
- loss of planning and organizational skills
- impulsive behaviors such as running away, substance use, verbally and/or physically acting out
- risk of out-of-home placement
Services:

- Skill instruction
- Crisis intervention
Eligibility:
BHIS serves individuals, aged 4 to 20, with Title XIX benefits through Medicaid. To participate in BHIS, an individual must secure a clinical diagnostic assessment with a licensed practitioner.

Program: Families Together
Families Together is an in-home parent education program. It provides parent education and connections to community resources to help strengthen skills and confidence in parenting. The resources are intended to help families learn age-appropriate discipline, role modeling, and behavior management. The program goals are to improve healthy outcomes for mothers prenatally and their children.
Services:
- In-home visitation
- Provide parent education and coping skills
- Assess family/child needs and abilities
- Link family to community resources
- Assist family in goal setting
- Transport families, if necessary
Intake Process:
The family must provide their address, phone number, date of birth for all family members, social security number, and reason for the referral.
