Evelyn K. Davis Center for Working Families offers a monthly career fair where applicants can meet, interview, and complete applications. Employers vary from month to month. Companies who will be in attendance are updated on Evelyn K. Davis' Facebook events page each month.

Evelyn K. Davis Center for Working Families offers basic and advanced classes in digital literacy.

A facilitated, peer-driven, small group format that will cover discipline, communication, formative relationships, father-mother partnership, physical and emotional development and social modeling.

The Financial Capability Network is located at Evelyn K. Davis Center for Working Families. We maximize the potential of financial education. The Network provides low to moderate income individuals and families a pathway of financial literacy and financial inclusion that leads to financial stability. Implementation of the program expands participants' knowledge and develops the skills necessary to help them understand their financial situation in addition to motivating them to take action.

United Way Worldwide and Wells Fargo teamed up in 2012 to develop a nationwide network to provide financial counseling . Eight United Ways across the nation, including the United Way of Central Iowa, were selected to launch the Network.

The Financial Empowerment Center through the Evelyn K Davis Center for Working Families connects individuals to personal finance services, business development, and financial revival loans.

HiSET tests give adults a chance to earn their jurisdiction's or State's High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma, which certifies they have attained the educational level of a high school graduate. The HiSET test is a series of five tests covering writing, science, math, literature and the arts, and social studies. These tests require the test taker to apply reading, math, language, and critical thinking skills. Tests are taken one at a time, and can be taken in any order, as long as writing and math are not last. Passing the HiSET test series allows student to earn their High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED).

Bidwell Riverside Center offers a toy pantry during the holiday season. A parent/guardian may choose 1 toy for each child signed-up. Must pre-register.

A career closet where men from the community who have been selected for a job interview, new or existing positions, is in recovery, re-entry, or those that have clothing needs, will have an opportunity to enjoy a personal shopping experience.

An opportunity for mothers of all ages with children from infants to adults, to come together, discuss and learn.

National Career Readiness Certificate is a portable credential that demonstrates achievement and a certain level of workplace employability skills in applied mathematics, locating information, and reading for information. Assessments measure “real world” skills that employers believe are critical to job success. Test questions are based on situations in the everyday work world.

The Polk County Financial Empowerment Center offers free individualized 1 on 1 coaching sessions to help people reach financial freedom. They also offer free coaching for small businesses and non-profits.

Evelyn K. Davis Center for Working Families offers the #TutorHeroes program to middle school and high school students. Tutors are from Drake University, Grand View University and Des Moines Area Community College.
