Healthy Families follows the national Healthy Families America evidence-based program model. Healthy Families is a home visiting program and serves families with young children. The program goals are to promote child health and development, improve family relationships, and encourage positive parenting and family relationships.
Nationally Accredited home visiting prenatal and parenting program free of charge funded through Winnebago Empowerment.
Services:
- Advocacy and linking families to appropriate community services.
- Teach, demonstrate, and coach parents on how to care for their child.
- Cultivate and strengthen nurturing parent-child relationships.
- Teach and model appropriate parent behavior and methods of discipline.
- Provide prenatal information and support.
Eligibility:
Families must enroll while pregnant or at the birth of their child.

Program: Public Health Nursing
Public Health nurses provides skilled nursing care, information on healthy lifestyle practices, and encourages changes for better health. This service is available to every citizen (of all ages) and is provided locally in every county. Skilled nursing services are provided by professional staff or associated paraprofessionals. The service available varies by county. Public Health Nurses also provide information and assistance to link families with local community resources for health and social needs.

- Pediatric home care
- Immunizations (direct or referral)
- Physical, occupational, and speech therapies
- Health teaching
- Nutrition counseling and teaching
- Initial newborn visit
