The Free 24/7 Interpretation Hotline offers free interpretation in over 160 languages in times of a crisis or housing issue. This can be used by emergency responders (EMT, Firefighters, police, ER, etc.) or any property managers/landlords.

Our interpreters regularly interpret at the following types of appointments within a 20-mile radius of the Des Moines metro area:

  • Medical appointments and procedures
  • Parent-teacher meetings and conferences
  • Social service appointments
  • Employee meetings and training
  • Immigration interviews
  • Business meetings
  • Court hearings, depositions, and other legal meetings

Interpreters Available:

With interpreters and translators fluent in over 50 languages and dialects, we help schools, non-profit organizations, medical clinics, government agencies, businesses and individuals overcome language barriers. Through the phone interpretation line, 120 languages are available.

Payment:

Interpretation costs

In-person interpretation is billed by the hour starting at $68.00; a minimum one-hour charge applies for all appointments. After the first hour, time is billed in 15-minute increments. Phone interpretation is charged by the minute. Please contact Iowa International Center for details.
