Families are served in lessons which include activities, worksheets, games, and cooking. The program aims to increase family knowledge in budgeting, meal planning, healthy food choices, food safety, and physical activity. Families and youth strengthen communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills through the lessons. These life skills help participants obtain employment and nurture family relationships.

Program: Parent Education Consortium
Parent Education Consortium (PEC) provides group-based parenting education for caregivers. Classes are provided in 6-week sessions. Each class includes a parent session and a parent/child activity time. Topics can include guidance and discipline, child development, and adult relationship skills.

The classes are provided in Linn County, however, parents do not have to live in Linn County to participate.
