Program: After-School Program
Four Oaks After-School programming is for children with behavioral and emotional problems. The program is available after school and on weekdays when school is not in session. In addition, there is a full-day summer program. Programming includes social, recreational and educational activities carried out in a closely supervised and structured environment. Behavior management, social skill building, and problem-solving skills are emphasized.

The Psychiatric Medical Institute for Children (PMIC) is designed especially for children who present serious emotional and behavioral problems. The basic foundation of this program is designed to develop positive self-concepts, social, and problem-solving skills while integrating child and family treatment components.
The PMIC system is intended to serve children who need an intensive treatment program for an extended period of time. Each of the twelve facilities in Iowa determines its own criteria for eligibility, service descriptions, and direct-care provider requirements.

Eligibility:
Programs typically serve children betweent the ages of 5 and 18 with a Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM V) diagnosis.
