Child Care Assistance (CCA) is a service that provides financial assistance to families to assist with the cost of child care.

Child care services for a child with protective needs are provided without regard to income. To receive protective child care services, the family must meet specific requirements, and child care must be identified in the child’s case permanency plan as a necessary service.

Child care services for a child with protective needs are provided without regard to income. To receive protective child care services, the family must meet specific requirements, and child care must be identified in the child’s case permanency plan as a necessary service.

  • Child care funding
  • Child care provider search

Eligibility:

Families who meet income guidelines. The parent must also be:

  • A member of a Family Investment Program (FIP) participant household or
  • Work an average of 28 hours per week; or
  • Attend an approved training or education program full-time; or
  • Looking for work; or
  • Unable to provide care because of an approved medical reason.

Intake Process:

Applications are available on the DHS website or at the DHS offices. Fill out the application and mail or submit online. Contact Centralized Child Care Assistance Eligibility Unit (866.448.4605) for questions and information on application status.
