The Center for Disabilities and Development, part of the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, provides comprehensive health care and services to people with disabilities and to their families through a combination of outpatient, inpatient, and community-based programs. The center provides information, evaluation, treatment recommendations, and training. Information resources include the Disability Resource Library, InfoTech, and Iowa COMPASS.
The center also serves as Iowa’s University Center for Excellence on Disabilities (UCED) and provides pre-service and in-service training programs, technical assistance and information sharing to assist individuals, families, communities, and government agencies in promoting the independence, productivity, and community inclusion of people with disabilities.
