Evelyn K. Davis Center for Working Families helps families and individuals improve their financial position and connects them with their work and career goals.

The Center is a partnership between the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines, United Way of Central Iowa and Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC). The partnership is providing solutions to three crucial needs identified by local residents: workforce training, employment opportunities and grocery and retail services.​

The Polk County Financial Empowerment Center offers free individualized 1 on 1 coaching sessions to help people reach financial freedom. They also offer free coaching for small businesses and non-profits.

A career closet where men from the community who have been selected for a job interview, new or existing positions, is in recovery, re-entry, or those that have clothing needs, will have an opportunity to enjoy a personal shopping experience.
