IMPACT Community Action Partnership provides a number of programs designed to help families stay warm in the winter, cool in the summer, and maintain access to water. Clients can receive a one-time payment for a utility bill if income guidelines are met. IMPACT will help clients apply for the benefit through the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). Applications for the LIHEAP program are accepted November 1st – April 30th.
IMPACT also partners with Polk County Public Works and Mid-Iowa Community Action to provide Weatherization services to all of their service counties.
Weatherization is a program established to help reduce the heating and cooling costs for low-income persons, particularly the elderly, disabled, and children, by improving the energy efficiency of their homes, thereby reducing the household’s energy bills.
